High-quality Voice:
The client includes support for leading audio codec technologies that support adjustable rate, error correction and silence suppression.
These combine to provide the end-user with a high-quality audio experience that is undistinguished or better than the quality of an average PSTN phone call. Supported codecs are: AMR, G.729 A/B and G.711.
End-user features:
The Simple, intuitive interface makes the client easy to use including multy lenguge operating menu. It uses the mobile phone’s any available data connectivity options (GPRS/UMTS/HSDPA/ WiFi) to connect to O-FONE SIP-based network and gain Next-gen VoIP services, all availab le on existing mobile phones.
It uses the mobile phone’s existing address book contacts - no modification needed, and no duplication of the contacts. It implements its own Call Logs to display information regarding Dialed, Missed and Received calls Including uses of Presence technologies to let you know who is online and available for on-line call.
Standards-based Presence capability:
O-FONE Symbian client displays Presence information using the widely adopted SIP SIMPLE protocol (Session Initiation Protocol Instant Messaging and Presence Leveraging Extensions).
Presence features include:
Presence subscription, publication and notification using SIMPLE Presence
Peer-to-Peer messaging and chat (RFC 3428)
